One of the first things I taught my kids when they were old enough to understand was to get help if you need it.  I don’t believe in stumbling around, wasting time, if there is someone or something that can show you a better way.  Taking my advice, my son decided to learn to play guitar and asked a friend how he could improve quickly.  His friend, who had taught my son the basics, told him to go online, where he would find professional tips on guitar technique. Once he’d used the information he’d found and practiced for a while, he played for the family.  It’s hard to say what made him prouder, his playing or the fact that he’d learned from pros.
