That’s fine advice for Europeans, Ethan, but why on Earth should we Americans continue to like in a system where we spend 20% of the Federal budget, and an enormous percentage of our national resources so we can provide Europe with the military protection they are not willing or interested in paying for themselves.
Wonder how Europeans can afford six weeks of paid vacation, free advice college education, universal health care, and generous pensions? Easy, they devote about 1% of their GDP to defense spending. The US spends about 10% of its GDP on military spending.
If the Europeans want to outsource their military defense to the US, I suppose that might be acceptable, as long as their willing to pay 50% of the bill at least.
I think it’s time for the US to stop paying for solving other peoples’ problems when we can’t even manage to solve or pay for our own.
