I have what would be considered today to be a large family. I’ve bathed and dressed a baby thousands of times over the years. With my first child, I had an unexpected discovery. Young babies do not like shoes! I’d put the latest stylish tennis shoe on my little guy and he’d wail and shake his feet. For a crawler, or even a new walker, those things are just too heavy and cumbersome. After a few more years and a few more children, the featured shoes that I found my babies preferred had a soft, flexible sole. Some were made completely of leather and almost moccasin like. Others looked a bit more traditional, but had a much more pliable rubber sole. Either way, for my babies, comfy feet made for a much happier baby!
