We were off to an after-party for our high school’s big win. We were fortunate enough to have swept no less than two State Championships. We decided to go formal, though, being used as it were to always slugging it out in court or on the field. The gym was transformed into an elegant dining area, and we had a short program that paid tribute to not just the winning teams but all sports teams in general. All the athletes were given souvenirs, which included sports pins for the female athletes and sports cufflinks for the male athletes. My boyfriend and I decided to exchange souvenirs to serve as remembrances of each other.
